What shampoos and conditioners are best for fusion, U-tipped extensions? Preferably, the least expensive.?

Pantene

What are some good natural shampoos that aren't too expensive?

I have wavy hair that is really thick in some parts then really thin in others. My hair falls out a lot (but i have a lot of hair with quite a bit of volume) and gets greasy really fast (in about 24hrs) so i have to shower everyday and i can't use that much conditioner but i have to use some or else it gets staticy/dry but it STILL gets greasy after a day. I also get dandruff. My hair is wavy is some areas then straight in others.

I heard shampoos like herbal essences, garnier, suave and pantene have a lot of wax and silicone in it that makes your hair greasy because of the build-up and makes your hair fall out but when i used shampoos like degunkify by herbal essences, it made me hair really dry and it would still get greasy.

I also heard that natural shampoos don't have that much silicone so i was wondering what some good natural shampoos are for my hair that sell under 10 bucks?

Thanks in advance! What are some good natural shampoos that aren't too expensive?

well its not under 10 bucks but most shampoos that are need to have cheap ingredients for the company to earn money, and if they have cheap ingredients, most likely means its less quality! so anyways, this natural shampoo that i have been with for years, makes your hair healthy, strong, takes away dandruff, leaves your hair smelling great, takes away grease and oil on hair, but doesn't make it dry, makes your hair shiny and silky, makes your hair grow, and is perfect for any type of hair! What are some good natural shampoos that aren't too expensive?
my hair is the same way!!! i LOVE head and shoulders (even though i dont have any dandruff) it make my hair very silky and pretty and leave my scalp flake free :]
Try anything from Sally Beauty.

When your hair is dry, try using a dryer sheet, it gets rid of static without adding oil.
garnier or aveda
garnier is really good

  • How expensive are shampoos like Nexxus and Theratin....? (+10)?

im looking for a proffesion brand, but i dont want to spend more than 20 bucks on shampoo and conditioner, so how much do you think they'll cost? least to most.

    and just in case....what are the best store brand shampoos i can use? i know store brands suck, cuz they leave wax build up on your hair, which make your haif ';look'; healthy but actually damage it more, but maybe there might be some good shampoos?';

thanks soo much %26lt;33333How expensive are shampoos like Nexxus and Theratin....? (+10)?
nexxus is anywhere from $3 to $18.

Expensive vs. cheap shampoos and conditioners...?

i have been using expensive shampoos and conditioners (professional) for a while hoping that this will improve my hair in a natural way, without silicon etc.... but today i used leftovers of herbal essences shampoo that my friend left in the shower and now i am asking myself... why exactly did i change? My hair now is silky, soft and shiny and smells great... what are the advantages and disadvantages of expensive vs cheap shampoos? am i just wasting my money or are the doing something to the hair...? Expensive vs. cheap shampoos and conditioners...?
I used to use expensive shampoo bought from a salon. Lately I have been using herbal essences as I ran out of shampoo. At first it was OK, but after a day or two my hair goes a bit weird. I am actually going to go back to using a salon shampoo.

For me I don't think it is a waste of money. Maybe try another shampoo for a while and see how you go. It is meant to be good to have a change of shampoos after awhile.Expensive vs. cheap shampoos and conditioners...?
I agree with Sal. The expensive ones are for specialist hair like hair that has been dyed or is grey or a certain texture.

If you are looking for a nice shampoo that does its job and leaves your hair feeling nice and looking shiny then a cheap one is just as good.

It is often the case that the expensive ones are better for long term healthy hair; and the cheaper ones make your hair look much better short term but maybe aren't as good at keeping your hair healthy.

    Experiment. :)
Expensive does not necessarily mean better when it comes to cosmetics and hair care products. You should NOT be avoiding silicones and dimethicones especially if your hair is damaged. They are excellent ingredients that are perfectly safe and are the best things out there for smooth and shiny hair! I have learned a lot reading books by Paula Begoun. She gives straight talk on cosmetic/hair products in her books, and she has a great website. There are great salon products that cost way too much money, and there are bad ones too. There are great drugstore products too, that will do a great job and not empty your pockets!
It's not so much cheap vs. expensive, it mostly depends on the ingredients in the shampoo/conditioner. Hair that's been chemically treated needs more moisture than normal, and sometimes more expensive shampoos can afford to put those moisturizing agents in their products. However, a cheaper shampoo can also do the same- again, just depends on what's in it. so CHECK THE LABELS! If two products have the same ingredients, but one is less expensive, go for it!
My sister spends tons of money on expensive shampoo and conditioner but she bleaches her hair religiously so she needs to, but i on the other hand dye my hair every other month or so and use Garnier Fructis length and strength system and love it! It smells great, makes my hair soft, shiny, and healthy looking and feeling! I would never spend 25 dollars for a bottle of shampoo when my 5 bucks buy me this! lol
its best to switch your shampoo and conditioner to another brand because you hair gets used to the same ones so when you use a new one it brings your hair back to life!

i used to use only Pantene but now i use Suave Professional Shampoo and conditioner its likw 2.00 a bottle and it works great
Cheap shampoos often contain sulfates which is basically like washing your hair in detergent which makes it becomes very dry. Herbal essences probably made your hair silky and smooth because it contains natural extracts. Hope it helped : )
Use hydra TLC by sunsilk. ITs cheap and repairs damage. Also expensive shampoos are pretty much just a name. They do the same as the good drugstore brands.
You only need to use expensive ones if your hair is coloured or permed - to repair the damage from that.

I know recipes to shampoos and conditioners here are the recipes:

    Sweet Strawberry Shampoo

    Supplies:

    Mixing bowl

    whisk or mixing spoon

    empty shampoo bottle

    Lemon or lemon juice (1)

    Strawberries ( 3 )

    milk

    measuring cups

    tea spoon

    water

    brown sugar

    paper towels

    cutting board

    Knife Directions

First of all, lay sheets of paper towel covering all

your workspace. Secondly, take out all your

supplies and put them on the table your work-

ing at. Thirdly, put your mixing bowl or blender,

whisk or mixing spoon, and measuring cups

on your layed out paper towels. Next, take out

your water, and fill the 1/3 measuring cup, and

pour it into your mixing bowl or blender.

If you're using a blender plug it in. Then, get out

your 1 cup, 1/2, and 1/4 measuring cups. And fill

the 1 cup with brown sugar. Keep your 1/2 cup and

1/4 cup on your worksoace because we'll be using

it soon. Pour the brown sugar into bowl or blender.

take out your strawberries, and smoosh and

smoosh them over the bowl or blender until all the

the juice is out of the berry. Repeat for the other 2

berries. When you've finished smooshing them,

throw them into your garbage can. Now, we're

gonna take out the lemons. Get your cutting board

and knife and place them both on your workspace.

Take the lemon and place it on top of your board.

Then, get your knife and cut the lemon in half.

Get 1 of the slices and squeeze all the juice out

of it over the mixing bowl or blender. Repeat this

step with your other lemon slice. Then, get out

your milk and fill the 1/2 cup with the milk and

pour into mixing bowl or blender. Finally, mix

everything in your mixing bowl with your whisk or

mixing spoon. Or, if you're using a blender, you

can press On. When everything is all mixed up,

get out your empty shampoo bottle and open up

the lid and start pouring in the shampoo with your

tea spoon. Now you have Fresh, Homemade,

    Sweet Strawberry Shampoo!!! :)

It really workes well! I hope you like it! :)

Hi well I would say you are wasting your money, like me you never learn I was always switching from expensive to cheap and the cheap ones always work better, I used to think that the expensive ones will improve my hair and they never did, just a waste of money in my opinion.

I now dont even use brand names like herball essesnces pantene or dove as I find them to just dry the hair out even more after a few washes.

the other day I tried some cheap jojoba shampoo and apple condtioner both shops own cheap make and my hair was glossy and really soft, plus I found my hair didnt get as greasy or weighted down either, both of the shampoo and condioner cost 48p and 38p each.

I was in morrisons the other day and got some cheap brand of there shampoo too and it worked the same, so whereas before I was paying around 拢4 for a shampoo and conditoner each, and then went to buying shampoo and condioner that were 拢2 each I can get a shampoo ann conditoner for less than a quid, and my hair is coloured too, cheap shampoos and conditoners have always been good for my hair.

All you pay for is the brand name in expensive shampoo and conditoners, hairdressers have told me to use this salon make and that salon make and I have wasted loads of money as they just dont work.

If you have found that herbal essecneses works better than the fortune you are paying at the moment, then only you can answer weather its better than paying out for the one that doesnt work for you.

    Names of expensive salon shampoos-?

Have you tried them and how did they work out for you? Please only if you have tried them..Names of expensive salon shampoos-?
the best shampoo is purealogy and I use it daily and love it it makes your hair so softNames of expensive salon shampoos-?
I tried Paul Mitchell and it dried out my hair. I'd go with sauve, it's cheap, but it works great
    The Ones who Give Cruel Answers are only mad at themselves for being stupid enough to buy the Bottles of Crap the salons call ';shampoo.';

Really, YOUR hair should be good enough with just a bathtub full of hot water. If you don't like it after brushing out any dirt there (and maybe after applying the construction-glue and molding it to suit your mood [hairspray, styling]) then shave it off and buy a wig you like.

But if you've got bookoos of extra money and can't figure out how to send it to me, go ahead and invest in the lives of those bored-bored shampoo-scientists.
there ok there not really worth the price
back to basics! they have several different kinds--- depends on your hair. and yes, it works great for my hair!
buy a nice bottle of crap in ur face

Re expensive salon shampoos and conditioners any better for your hair than grocery store brands?

My sister is a beautician and she swears that all are about the same. Suave is putting out new products that are similar to the really expensive and I've tried them. I like a few but the amplifying one tend to dry out my hair but so do the name brand ones. I just experiment with travel size bottles until I find one that I like, that way I'm not out a big expense on the big ones. Good LuckRe expensive salon shampoos and conditioners any better for your hair than grocery store brands?
I use Kredo Klux fat hair shampoo. Works great. You can only buy it here in Russia, though. I also have a Brilliant Brunette cream by John Frieda. Makes a big difference. Report Abuse
Re expensive salon shampoos and conditioners any better for your hair than grocery store brands?
I meant Kredo Lux. Report Abuse

nope.. i work at walgreens.. their are minor differeces between the diff shampoos.. and if u can... go generic... because 95% of the time.. they are the exact same thing.. cept much cheaper!
It depends really on each individual product. Some salon products I have bought were no better than grocery store brands. But some of them were definitely better. It also depends on your hair. If you have normal hair, I think most any shampoo and conditioners will be fine. But if you have coarse, dry, or color treated hair, I would stick with salon brands.
Most of them are pretty much the same. I have been told by a lot of cosmetologists to never ever use pantene tho. They say it almost like using dish soap and it actually hurts your hair more than helping it.
it depends of how cheap of stuff you buy from the grocery, salon shampoos are better than alot, but there are some you can buy at the store that are about the same
If you have normal hair most brands are ok - if you got dry damaged tinted or coloured hair it is better to use a more advanced product
You should check the ingredients on the shampoos and conditioners. I don't think there is a difference.
No, waste of money if you ask me.
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. I have had store brands that work great on my hair and salon products that were terrible. The trick is finding something you like. I have had success getting advice from a salon stylist on what to use on my hair (think and wavy). Good luck!

    Hi Never:

Your drying hair/skin may be a lack of water intake. (some dehydration).

Make sure you drink ';alot'; of water daily. I have heard Distilled is the best for you to drink or better yet, get a water conditioner that goes on your sink facet so it will ensure safer drinking water for you.

It will most defenelty help your dry hair and skin. I have the same prob. because I am a

    heavy soda drinker instead of water. Am trying to get into the habbit now. (Also, have heard your Thyroids can contribute to this..?.';

As far as a good moisterizing shampoo/conditioner, not sure. Maybe Paul Mitchell. My advice- Get your inside healthier and it will make your outside healthier.

God Bless, Know how you feel. :)
been there done that...if you are a morning shower person, treat your hair to an over nite VO5 treatment. Then use shampoo and conditioner for dry hair in the am.
pureology hydrate is awesome, but it is kinda pricey. try buying it from ebay. that will help.
    Pantene pro-v
    Garnier fructies

What type of shampoo and conditioner is really good for curly dry hair, but not really expensive?

I have used pantene pro v on a daily basis for years and have recently heard it is not good because it causes build up. I have been having a problem with a lot of breakage. I don't want to have to spend more than $8 each on shampoo and conditioner (Currently pay about 6/7 each on the pantene big bottles and they last me the whole month). Any suggestions?? I know it's not good to brush wet hair as well, but are there any good products to help with the frizz/volume/poofiness that dry brushing causes? What type of shampoo and conditioner is really good for curly dry hair, but not really expensive?

umm i think its pantene provie cause i also havy dry hair and its good and cheep its just for 3拢 a bottle Report Abuse

Well I hate to break it to you, but drugstore crap is cheap for a reason. It is all really bad for your hair: containing really harsh chemicals and wax. Yes, Pantene is the worst, but you are not going to get anything much better at a drugstore. Aussie has less of the chemicals and wax, but it is still junk. All drugstore shampoo is too harsh and is going to dry your hair out, and the conditioner is close to pointless. Brushing your hair wet is fine, I have no idea where you heard that.
    Garnier Fructis is good.

    Herbel essnces is good

    Tresemme is great.

Look for bottles that say curl hydration or body or volume.

Dry Shampoo brands? (maybe...not crazy expensive...)?

I know brands that are more expensive really can be worth the money and all...and I've heard great things about bumble and bumble's line of dry shampoo...but holy crap a FOUR oz bottle of dry shampoo is $35. That is kinda ridiculous. And a 1 oz bottle is $19, that'd last like a week, if that. Are there any brands people have tried that worked out well that was less expensive? To be honest, when I had really light hair I could get away with using just a little baby powder at my roots between washes, but when I dye it darker that's not really an option lol.

I know it's not a big deal to just wash with regular shampoo, it's just that I color my hair a lot and it'd be nice to prolong the color by not washing it as much.Dry Shampoo brands? (maybe...not crazy expensive...)?

I recommend anything from herbal essence or garnier fructis, they're both amazing brands and they wont break the bank, %26amp; they have different types to fit your hair type or what you what your hair to do.

I know first hand about expensive shampoos and they're not worth it, they usually work just as good as the cheaper ones, they're a waste of money.

i use garnier fructis..and i love it. and i have wavy/curlyish hair so before i straighten mine i use john freda frizz control..it works good.
No. Let me tell you a little something, but it is a secret that you cannot share with even your closest friends. Well, maybe your CLOSEST friends but no one else LOL. If you look at what your paying for shampoo, let's say it is six dollars and eighty five cents. About 45 cents of that is production costs, about 13 cents is distribution, about two bucks is their profit and the REST IS MARKETING! So, if you buy generic what you ARE NOT PAYING is the 3-4 dollars for all that marketing and such a big profit margin. Same product that is the only difference.
you should try Head %26amp; Shoulders or Garnier, they work really good with my hair.
I have been using Pantene for years and love it. Makes my hair shiny and soft.
Garnier Fructis works really well. It makes my hair feel soft, %26amp; shiny.
i love infusium 23 both shampoo and conditioner its only around 5 bucks a bottle and it smells so good!
Matrix is a really good shampoo....
Nioxin Hair Products %26amp; Nioxin Shampoo are the very best for many reasons. Yes, expensive is better. Check out the link.

They carry wonderful products and you'll pay about the same for Pantene in stores.
I'm a hairstylist so this is my educated answer. I've tested P.H. levels in most of the grocery store brands and Aussie tested to be the healthiest store brand. The worst were Pantene Pro V, Thermal Silk, and Herbal Essence. They may seem to make your hair soft and shiny but the coat the hair with a build up. As far as professional products go there all good for your hair. It's just your preference and how much you are willing to pay. My favorite is Redken Products, they have something for every type of hair. And there reasonably priced. Do avoid over clarifying your hair b/c it can become brittle.
Biolage. Pricey but organic and smells amazing...plus they offer very tailored products for your hair.
i agree with the redken suggestion. i'd like to add that if you go to a beauty supply store (in michigan we have trade secret!) they sell them in shampoo/conditioner packages that save you a lot (i think redken is 41%) it makes it very close to the cost of higher end drugstore brands.
market got lots of good shampoos, that is hard to said whish one is the best, as here is not any shampoo that suit to everyone

Why do women use shampoos, mouthwash, bodywash, and expensive perfumes, and then smoke a cigarette?

Just seems counterproductive to me. I have nothing in particular against smoking, just curious. Why take all the time and expense for smelling great, and then light up a cigarrette that pretty much eliminates any chance for someone to appriciate your efforts? Why do women use shampoos, mouthwash, bodywash, and expensive perfumes, and then smoke a cigarette?
that does seem rather silly doesn't it.

the answer ,partly, is to under standerstand that people who smoke do not smell that smoke. To these people that is a normal envirorment. they walk around with clothes, car, house and personal items that have been smoke infused. making them unable to smell the smokeWhy do women use shampoos, mouthwash, bodywash, and expensive perfumes, and then smoke a cigarette?
i am a smoker and i dont do all the fru fru crap you are talking about. i smell my smoke when i am in the car the house and at work i just dont care. all that cover up and added stench gets to me. Report Abuse

because they are untrained loosers and dont know any better
I never thought of it like that (reformed smoker). But I have thought it odd watching someone order a Big Mac and a Diet Coke. Kind of the same thing.
They miss just one think, ';the brain';.

    LOL
Well that is a damn good question. One I never understood either. I do all that you mentioned but will not smoke because it STINKS and I will not be around people because that second hand smokes makes you smell sometimes worse then the actual smoker.
    Don't generalise.
they probably don't consider the entire process, but I did have to think about the response that mouth wash used after every smoke to rid the nasty taste ... then why smoke ... but that's a whole other issue, or maybe not. Getting all dressed up is what we do, the reason for smoking ';cause everyone else does and it looks cool, gives you a prop/something to do with your hands, etc'; and therefore the smells combining doesn't seem odd.

I used to smoke a long time ago and eventually decided it does stink and I don't really need the social ';crutch'; so I gave it up.
Well, I don't necessarily agree that smoking after getting all ';dolled up'; totally eliminates a chance of being appreciated. Depends on the person, really. I carry a mini mouthwash with me wherever I go, and everytime I have a smoke..I rinse my mouth out because I hate that taste in my mouth afterwards. But besides the fact that it may stink up my clothes...I still look good and my breath is minty fresh:)
I love your question! And guess what? There is no GOOD answer except for maybe addiction. It absolutely makes no sense to ';pretty'; yourself up, make your self smell good, and then put a ';cancer stick'; in your mouth and light it. This obviously LOOKS bad, SMELLS bad, and is terrible for your health. So, why does ANYONE do this? Addiction has to be the answer, unless they are mentally challenged.

Hello Hydration by Herbal Essence OOOOOOOOOhhhhh

so good for your hair and around 5 $
You should try Herbal Essences, their shampoos and condioners really re hydrate your hair, and their not to expensive.
Head'n'shoulders is a good one.If u think that is too expensive, try Pantene.. Or try Garnier Fructis. But most people would say that is expensive.
hey i asked my friend and she is a hairdresser she said the shops own brand is the best cos it will take all the crap ur hair and when ur hair is repaired then use herbal essence hope this helps
It really depends on what hair type you have. I have always had dry frizzy hair. I also color the gray every 4 weeks. I found great results using the Aussie line of hair products. I use the moist shampoo and conditioner. I also use the 3-minute miracle conditioner after I color my hair. I receive a lot of comments on my great hair.(if they only knew what it looked like without the Aussie products). Good luck.

  • Is there really a big difference between expensive shampoos and the cheaper shampoos?

I have paid top dollar for products that have done nothing for my hair and Wal-Mart prices for stuff that works wonders. There is no difference except brand name and price. If you find something that works well for your hair, just stick with it whether brand name or bargain. The end result is what's important, not how much you paid for it.Is there really a big difference between expensive shampoos and the cheaper shampoos?
There's really no difference between them. Just that you save money when you buy the cheaper one.Is there really a big difference between expensive shampoos and the cheaper shampoos?
Yes. For one thing, the ingredients in professional shampoos and conditioners are highly regulated. The bigger problem with over-the-counter shampoos is the FDA requires a stripping agent in anything sold over the counter. The problem with is, they don't really care what is used as a stripping agent or how much or how little is used. Stripping agents are necessary from time to time but certainly not every time you shampoo your hair. Over-the-counter shampoos typically have a much higher pH which expands the outer scales on your hair among a myriad of other problems. This causes dryness, breakage, dull color and if you have color on your hair can cause it to fade. The over-the-counter shampoos that claim to smooth hair or repair split ends just coat the hair eventually making it heavy. When people say they need to change thier shampoos from time to time because they just stop working, that's one of the reasons. Here's another bit of information you'd probably rather not hear. Occassionally, you'll see professional products in drugstores or stores like Wal-Mart. They recently pulled a few of these products off the shelf and tested the. I don't know if it was Matrix, Redken, or Tigi, but it was a big name that's usually only sold in salons - guess what they found? Sewer water. Nice, huh? Water that had not been purified in a shampoo to clean your hair. When you use a professional shampoo, recommended by a professional that knows a little about what he/she is doing, there is no comparison between the professional stuff and the grocery store stuff. Plus, an 8 or 12 oz bottle of good shampoo like Redken, Bed Head, Rusk, or any other you can only buy in a salon is so concentrated it should last you months rather than weeks even if you have thick hair and shampoo every day.
it really depends on what works for your hair. if some shampoo you got for a buck works for your hair then great~! bur. you really do get what you pay for. a lot of cheap shampoos have more whater then others making it thinner and not as thick and rich as others. if you pay a few bucks more then it might be a better buy. try paying a little more on a shampoo and see if you like it better. but in the long run it does help.
meh, it depends on the different companies. price certainly does not correspond to quality when it comes to shampoos. personally, I like Suave.
    i've actually noticed some differences

i used to use fekkai which is $32 per bottle and my hair was silkier and smooth and soft

now im trying to limit spending and ive tried varius shapoos and they dont give me the same results
I dont think so. I always buy he cheap stuff. Once I got talked into this really pricey stuff at a salon. No difference...just $25 less in my pocket.
yes all shampoos have as a main ingredient some form of cleaner...the best one you can find is sodium laureth sulfate. most shampoos that you buy at a supermarket or something like that contain sodium lauryl sulfate. its also a cleaner but its a lot harsher and can strip your hair of the natural nutrients and protein.
The only cheap shampoo that I don't like it Sauve because after one day my hair felt greasy. Other than that, I've tried lots of types, and nothing seems to work better than anything else.
Yes! Cheaper shampoos may damage the scalp and do not cleanse the hair as effectively.
Not a big difference, but yes a difference. Some of the more expensive shampoos have more testing done to create better results and more choices, but alot of the shampoo companies are more expensive because of a ';better looking'; bottle. I recomend sunsilk or Garnier , I wouldnt really recoment pantein or suave.
Not really. Sometimes the ingredients differ (such as certain plant extracts, more rare ingredients thereby upping the price, etc.), but there usually isn't that much of a difference.

Larger brands like Pantene, however, have huge research facilities and the money-power to find new ingredients all over the world, while smaller brands tend to not but usually have a salon appeal. Both are equally fine to use, though... it's generally just a personal preference or budget issues.
certainly big difference in the ingredients. cheap shampoo may have only chemicals, while expensive shampoo may have hair saving ingredients.
I find I like some expensive shampoos and some cheap ones. Basically it involved experimenting to see what works for you. If you have really dry or colored hair, I would stick with the more professional lines.
    Just the price!!!

Do you tend to buy expensive moisturizers and specialty shampoos?

The only hair product I spend a lot of money on is my Regis Curl Lock Cream. It's about $13 a bottle BUT it lasts for a LONG time. I have curly hair that is down to my behind and this is the most FABULOUS product!

One bottle will last about 4 months, so it's not a bad investment.Do you tend to buy expensive moisturizers and specialty shampoos?
I spend more money on products for my face because I have sensitive skin, but I just use regular shampoo/conditioner and lotion. Sometimes I splurge on a salon product just because it smells great, but I don't think they really work any better than the drugstore version.Do you tend to buy expensive moisturizers and specialty shampoos?
No, my actual favs are Tresemme and good old $1.50 Sauve. My hair is probably one of my best assets. The expensive stuff is marketed toward those w/ hair problems. The real problem is that they don't really do what they promise.
Nope. I don't like to feel anything on my face, except at time, some lipstick. very light, just for a hint of colour.

As far as shampoos, any will probably do, which is not the price of a small car. I can't see why the fuss about the SPECIALTIES!
No i just like to stay with something that is cheap in my price range. just because it cost more does not mean it works better is what i think. Usually the off brand works just as good for half the price
    No.

I like trying different things but they are always

something I find at CVS for some reason.
No people say I'm cheap but I say I'm just conservative.
No I don't spend a lot of money on that stuff. I use Panteen products and Curel Lotion.
Waste of your money, I preserve mine.

I've always bought expensive shampoos, but am now sick of wasting the money, I am now using Loreal?

Will it really make a difference in my hair? I have heard that it makes no difference no matter what shampoo/conditioner you use.I've always bought expensive shampoos, but am now sick of wasting the money, I am now using Loreal?
its true. the only difference between shampoos is the scents and the packaging. nothing elseI've always bought expensive shampoos, but am now sick of wasting the money, I am now using Loreal?
I disagree.. The products that are sold at drugstores get no bonus points in my book! Im a licensed stylist and I will only use professional products... Alot of store bought brands are high on the pH scale alkaline (causing dryness etc) or they are very waxed based and cause buildup! Im not sure what product you were using before but if you need some suggestions I would be glad to help! I used Loreal way before I even went to highschool and definatley not a fan! Maybe im biased because Im a cosmetologist!
are you happy with it, if you are then problem solved
I remember the days when I used to go get a haircut (been a while, as you can see) that a stylist would ask what shampoo I used. I would tell her, then she went on a diatribe about how it gives wax buildup, it's the same stuff used to wash your car, etc.. And then the sales pitch for Paul Mitchell or whatever was on the shelf. And it was always much more than store-bought. Bet these stylists make a nice fat commission on each bottle, eh?
I like Herbal essences...It's pretty cheap, but they have a lot of different shampoos with really good scents and stuff. They also have it with all different types like colored, curly, or in need of body (like mine!) and it's only like $4 a bottle and each one has a matching conditioner, you can get it at target or any place like that. Good Luck...oh- pick one that you really like becuase it works incredibly well.
Just make sure that it's pH-balanced. It's usually a good idea to change up your shampoo every now %26amp; then anyhow since your hair will get so used to one shampoo that that shampoo then becomes less effective (much like using the same medicine over and over will reduce its effectiveness, as viruses will get used to it and mutate to resist it).
i just heard on tv that almost all products on the shelf are ph balanced.
Gonna have to say it makes a big difference in the way your hair feels...I am sure they all clean the same but Loreal and Suave left my hair feeling ';gunky';...try Pantene or something in that price range...not as expensive as salon products but leaves your hair w/ less of a ';build-up'; feel
I don't think it matters what kind of shampoo/conditioner u use. I've used different types of shampoos all my life and my hair doesn't seem to change much. When I used Garneir Fructis (however you spell it) it made my hair just a little bit of what it said like shinny it made my hair just a little bit more shinny but loreal should do really good no matter what kind of hair you have i used it even when i was a kid! (the kid stuff that don't burn ur eyes)but even when when i used the other loreal shampoo/conditioner it did really well on my hair so i do't think it will make a big difference really take my advice!! will u mark mine as best answer?
You're absolutely right...cheap shampoos and conditioners work just as well as the expensive ones, if not better. Not to mention...I used to work in a hair salon and often got products for free...They were such garbage and it wasn't just one brand, it was a few different brands.

To Nikki above...Comparing store bought products and salon products...I'm going with the store bought ones. And you're quite wrong about the buildup. That's all I ever had in my hair when I used salon products. It's kind of like...A%26amp;F clothing. They're expensive, but their quality is about as good as the quality you would get in a thrift store, Walmart or KMart. The reason it's expensive and ';worth it'; as some like to think...The TAG. If there's a big name on something, chances are it's going to have a big price as well, but not so much when considering the quality.

I find that even Suave is a really good shampoo and conditioner, as well as their products. I'd buy them over Matrix and Redken any day! In fact...I have Garnier Fructis in a conditioner...I cannot believe how crappy it is. $6 for a little tiny bottle and it does the complete opposite of what it says. Now I have a bigger bottle os Suave for $2 and it DOES everything it says, it doesn't leave my hair staticy, built up and dry like Garnier. So to the person below that said Garnier was best...I'm afraid you are wrong.
I'm fortunate to have good hair. I too tried the expensive shampoos like Arbonne and can't tell any difference between it and Pantene or Catwalk shampoo. Maybe I'll try Loreal next. lol lol
There's really no big difference. A lot of of shampoo/conditioner you find anywhere pretty much works the same as the expensive stuff..
Sally Beauty Supply offers generic brands of lots of higher-priced products. The chemical contents are exactly the same as the more expensive counterparts....without the brand, at about 1/2 or less price.
Some shampoos I've tried, from best to worst:

    Herbal Essences

    John Frieda Sheer Blonde

    ^Best^

    Garnier Fructis

    Redkin

    Pantene Blonde Expressions

    Mane N Tail

    Loreal

    ^Okay^

    Pantene

    Suave

    ^Worst^

I love Herbal Essences. I use the body building shampoo and conditioner and volumizing mousse. It really coats my hair and makes it soft and managable, not stringy and stiff.
If the shampoo is ph balanced you are good to go!

Is there really a difference between cheaper shampoos and more expensive ones?

NO DIFFERENCE EXCEPT THE PRICE.Is there really a difference between cheaper shampoos and more expensive ones?
Nope the same thing, the only difference is the price. Is there really a difference between cheaper shampoos and more expensive ones?
No difference lah. Just paying for brand and advertisement.
Depends on the ingredients. I recently discovered Generic Value Products, you can find them at Sally's Beauty Supply. It shows the ingredient comparison which is exact to Paul Mitchell.
    Yeah, the price
yes big time! Some cheaper shampoos do not have a good ph level and can damage your hair. Some will also leave a vinyl or waxy build up and make your hair dull, greasy, and or oily! I am a licensed cosmetologist and we actually did ph testing in school on cheap versus quality shampoos
Yeah, cheap ones mess up my hair %26amp; makes it feel dry. The more expensive brand keeps it soft %26amp; shinny.

I've heard that some chemicals in the cheaper shampoos dry out your hair with alcohol. I haven't had any luck doing that.

Try Bumble %26amp; Bumble. They're products work really good %26amp; they have a lot of diffent lines. They smell good too.

I was surprised how long their products lasted me over a month.

I didn't feel like I had to wash my hair everyday because it was grimmy %26amp; heavy like before. It's gentle enough to use everyday in case you do.
    YES

the ingredients...store bought shampoos are not the same ph as hair skin and nails, and they have a lot of detergents in them that will strip your hair and its color, just to name a few.

buy from a professional in a salon--there are MANY products in salons that are low priced to high priced, and there is one that will be in your budget for sure! i would suggest paul mitchell to you, its a great professional product for your hair and its very affordable, and as always, with prof. products they are concetrated so a little goes a long way.
    Yes the price duh
The only difference is the price.
    yes
Yes......although, I cannot always afford the ';good stuff';, so I try to use a good conditioner and detangler......also, if you don't color treat or perm your hair, you really don't need the expensive stuff.
    Yea
Only the price n the brand name
yap.. there is really difference b/w the cheap one and the expensive one.. in my experience, before i used the $1 conditioner.. instead of the good one.. rite now, i use the tresemme which is maybe $5 .. and there are a lot of differences.. the tresseme conditoner that i use has a lot of mosturizer.. eventhough they have the same indrigents or something.. it still remains the differences.. =D dont be fool by ur parents.. ur parents just dont wanna spend a lot of money to buy u shampoo lolz.. 1 more thing.. money cant fool people..
Yes there is a difference you need to find the kind of shampoo for your type of hair like i use pantene pro-v, and when i use other ones they make my hair either dry or poofy!!
Yes. Salon shampoos cost more because they are more concentrated, and not full of junk. Shampoos like Pantene have wax in them, which coat the hair, making it feel smooth but at the same time suffocating your cuticle, which needs to be professionally repaired by deep conditioning, not temporarily patched. Also, be careful in buying top of the line products at HEB or grocery stores. Read on the label, if it says Guaranteed Only When Sold In Professional Salon, don't buy it, it's very possible it is counterfeit or very old and was sold because it was left on the shelf.
I learned that you can buy cheaper shampoo because the ingredients are very similar, if it's said to do the same thing like the more expensive cheap products, if you know what I mean?

however conditioner is worth paying a little more because there are more high quality moisturizers and more accually sticks to your hair. same thing with body wash and lotion, better to have the nice lotion.

How do i keep my hair free from dandruff if i don't money to buy expensive shampoos?

im a young men in my 20s blackHow do i keep my hair free from dandruff if i don't money to buy expensive shampoos?
Head and Shoulders or Selsun Blue....I know that Head and Shoulders works really good and I have heard that Selsun Blue works good too.How do i keep my hair free from dandruff if i don't money to buy expensive shampoos?
I suggest getting a good boar's bristle brush so that you can brush your scalp before you shampoo. Then, after you shampoo, press (don't rub) your scalp dry. If your hair is really short then apply a tiny amount of some kind of natural oil (like almond, coconut, or castor; never mineral) to your scalp. This will condition it, and you will see a reduction in flakes.

Also, a lot of men have a nice face shape and can pull off the bald look. Consider it because then you won't have to worry about dandruff!

    Good luck with your scalp:)
Black hair is very different and must be treated differently. If you were white, I'd tell you to rinse it in white vinegar after shampooing, but that's what works on white people's hair. Why not call your mom, sister, cousin, gf...any woman who's black and in your circle of acquaintances to see what they do?
apply castor oil and seasame oil mixed together for 20 min this helps in the growth of the hair. and also apply curd mixed with lemon juice before washing hair it will make ur hair shiny and softens them

check this site for food for hair and to get rid of dandruff
You Could Make Sure you Rinse Your Hair Properly After Washing, Thats Usually The Cause of Dandruff, Or try Head And Sholders, Thats What I Use And I Find It Works Great, I Dont Have Dandruff, And It Leaved My Hair Really Soft And Shiny,,

    Give It A Go

    Hope This Helps

    :D
Wash your hair with soap and water, rinse well, then put a little baby oil in the palm of your hand, and massage well into your scalp. Helps prevent the scalp from drying out.
I've tried everything even prescription shampoos but Head and Shoulders Citrus Breeze is the only one that works. Within a few days my dandruff improved dramatically.
u can probably use selsun blue for dandruff.....

u can get at duane reade or cvs or sumthing
at least there are oils that are affordable you can use them daily after washing it ordinarily
Head and Shoulders, the new advanced one, it is great! It does work, very well!
take some natural herbal plant like crisanthemum.

  • What is the best dry shampoo ?? what is the best but also least expensive?

i'll let you on in a beauty secret

    - dry shampoo is really ridiculous. if you leave it in the can for too long (and dont use it), it will all evaporate and you'll have nothing left.

however, talcom powder/baby powder is amazing. you just tip some in your hand, and massage it through your hair in all the oily areas.

it works just as well, if not better.

xWhat is the best dry shampoo ?? what is the best but also least expensive?
use TRESemme Smooth and Silky shampoo/conditioner. it is for dry/damaged hair and is a professional product... AND GUESS WAT?? IT IS THE CHEAPEST SHAMPOO/CONDITIONER OUT OF ALL THE OTHER SHAMPOOS THAT ACTUALLY WORK! it is the black and white bottle (black bottle= shampoo and white bottle= conditioner so u can't really miss it) the bottles are sooo big too!

it's like $4.49 for the shampoo, and $4.49 for the conditioner... but hey, like i said, most shampoos are more expensive, like $5.99 and the bottles are small.. for this, u get 32 oz.!!! it REALLY WORKS TOO! u can get it at a drugstore, like walgreens are rite aid, or maybe u can get it at target or walmart or something like that...

good luck! i hope u found wat u needed! =]

What is the best name brand shampoo for oily hair that isn't too expensive?

Lamas Beauty products has a few that are really good, all are natural and organic, the Wheat Germ shampoo is really good. It Removes excess oil, residue and debris instantly without over-drying, stripping moisture or vitality. Leaves hair shiny-clean and full of bounce. Here is a link, it is safe and secure.

Anything by Aussie is really good and not expensive at all.

Are expensive shampoos and soaps with exotic ingredients pointless?

Is there really any reason to purchase expensive shampoos or soaps the contain a long list of exotic natural ingredients when you just end up washing it all down the drain two minutes later? How can a minute amount of silk amino acids or sandalwood extract have any effect on your hair or hands if you rinse it out 30 seconds later? I see the point of such ingredients in products that stay on your skin or in your hair a little longer (e.g. lotions or conditioners), but is there really any reason to put it in soap? Are expensive shampoos and soaps with exotic ingredients pointless?
Oh, I has been go through same thing. I get worry of chemicals in it which, I might not know about. So, I went to Vitatim Shopper (health store) and found this plenty simple natural few ingredients that you can read in only 1 or 4 words! work lots better than other types. I bought Jojoba shampoo and conditioner work well for me and at good price. They have aloe Vera, Jojoba, mango, and whatever. I suggestion you go there check it out! Might save your money. *smile* ((Good Luck!))Are expensive shampoos and soaps with exotic ingredients pointless?
I think regular shampoo is just as good or better.
It depends on what ingriedients are in the shampoo bottle.
The better shampoos have balanced PH levels which keep the hair from drying out and getting damaged. This info is from my hairdresser at Vidal Sassoon. I use Paul Mitchell because the scents are mild.

Is expensive MEN'S shampoo worth it?

I've been using cheapo Suave Men's shampoo (about $4 at WalMart) and it smells good when it's in my hair, but I feel like afterwards it does not leave my hair smelling so pleasant...just smells like hair.

The place I get my hair cut uses Redken Go Clean for Men and it smells nice so I thought I'd buy it, but it's like $10-$20 a bottle depending on the size. Is it really worth it to spend the extra money on shampoo if you're a guy?

By worth it I mean does it leave your hair clean, soft, and smelling good.Is expensive MEN'S shampoo worth it?
Of course. Just because we're guys doesn't mean we can't have good hair.Is expensive MEN'S shampoo worth it?
Try something a step up above Suave but a step below something as expensive as Redken. How about something by Old Spice or Nivea? Lot's of men's deodorant companies are branching out into the shampoo and other men hygienic area's I'm sure you'll be able to find something that won't put quite a hurting on the wallet.
Maybe try Nexxus if you want one of the better store brands. If you want a salon brand, Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree stuff is very good.

Otherwise if you want something better than Suave, that is still relatively inexpensive, Tresemme is it.
Honestly, no, its not worth it.

Shampoo is all the same, all it does is it cleans the scalp of dirt and oils. The only thing you have to choose carefully is conditioner, but this mainly applies for girls. =)

    Hope i could help
Get yourself some Herbal Essences. Who cares if it is marketed to women. The shampoo smells good before and after you wash it.

I have recently used Biolage shampoo and conditioner that cost about $50.

Does expensive shampoo's and conditioners really work better than the cheaper alternatives? I'm just not so sure the expensive ones really are better???

Please advise. Cheers.Shampoo and conditioners - cheap v's expensive???
sometimes you are just paying for the brand name. but a lot of times with more expensive brands they use more expensive ingredients. a lot of times they do work better. but i just stick with dove or herbal essences.Shampoo and conditioners - cheap v's expensive???
    yes but maybe not biolage
no i dont beleive that even if the product is cheap it might work on you better than an expensive item it just depends on which product suits you bettter
I honeslty don't buy into the whole expensive works better idea. What I usually do is check out teh active ingredients in any type of product that I buy. Most of the time it's the same no matter which one you buy. Some of the ingredients may be changed up in different ones, but all in all they are made with the same stuff.
YES! I went through the ';it doesn't really matter'; phase and used the cheap stuff for a few months. The results were awful (my hair was breaking faster than it was growing)

I use Kerastase products and they are not cheap, but they make such a noticeable difference that it is worth every penny.

Why is shampoo so expensive in the Philipines?

Shampoo in the Philippines is AT LEAST twice the price as it is in the United States. Any person that has been both places that takes the time to look will see. I have three daughters, a wife and two maids, hence i spend alot on shampoo.

Cheap baby shampoo in the U.S. is only .99 cents at Wal-Mart

Plus 7% sales tax. its like Double that here Plus a 12% vat

I was thinking that possibly some of the elements that go into the process of making the shampoo may be imported.

zzz... shouldn't you complain about the price of feminine napkins? the reason why you complain a lot is that... all of your family members are females. women use shampoo more then men. try to think that you have 3 sons, a husband and 2 houseboys. hmmm... beer... zzz...
I went to your profile to review what answers you got earlier when you posted the very same question. I can't understand the ranting that ends your question. But your profile is closed.

To go to your point, the explanation can be found right there in your question : ';Cheap baby shampoo...Wal Mart'; WalMart has made it a point to compete with their own suppliers, producing CHEAP products, and US economists are calling this a ';race to the bottom';. Their suppliers are indignant.

You also need to know that it is not just Philippines vs US, in your cost comparison. Shampoos in the Philippines would be cheaper on a per ounce or per gram basis, versus HongKong or Singapore.

Wlal Mart is just different. And you can not say that Palmolive Sampoo in the Philippines is more expensive than Palmolive shampoo in the US. You can not say that Pantene in the Philippines is more expensive than Pantene in the US. But to compare these brands with WalMart's house brands will be comparing apples and oranges.

You may want to read the great debate about what Wal Mart is doing to business.

    http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/鈥?/a>
Are you comparing a 'no name' to a 'brand name', if so of course the 'no name' would be cheaper.

If you compare 'brand name' against 'brand name' then I believe your statement ';Shampoo in the Philippines is AT LEAST twice the price as it is in the United States'; to be somewhat mis-leading if not untrue.

I do the grocery shopping both here and in the Philippines when I am there. Imported Palmolive products are cheaper in the Philippines then from the country that they were made in.

PLEASE DO NOT GET OFFENDED, IF YOU ARE AN EDUCATED PERSON AND MY VIEW DOES NOT AGREE WITH YOURS.

I should know as I help support 4 adult females 2 young female nieces and 3 adult males whenever I visit the Philippines.

    EDIT

Harry, Harry, Harry it is good to see that you can spare enough time to get off the toilet and throw in your twenty cents worth.

If as you say ';those vain dolls will pay any price to care for the only asset they have.'; then, my friend , they at least have an asset, something you so sadly lack. Will your alter-egos ';Ebenezer'; and ';Lucky Me'; be answering too.
I always have to laugh, when I see a papa chuck type with his entourage come into the plaza, no wonder he can come here only once a year. and yes shampoo is very expensive here for the simple fact that procter %26amp; gamble and unilever know damn well that those vain dolls will pay any price to care for the only asset they have.
    i agree with BOPOLS...
    Geez! You should try to read your post and maybe you will really realize how an educated individual you are. The answer is already in your Q. Quit comparing the price from your country, will yah? That's the way it is in the Philippines so just deal with it and if you really think it's too expensive then let your loved ones use a natural shampoo 'gugu' or tell them to use shampoo once or twice a week.%26lt;*-*%26gt;
how big is that .99 c shampoo?

  • Are expensive saloon shampoos really worth it?

I used to use them but it seemed like a waste of money. I've being using Aussie now for a year with no problems. Are expensive saloon shampoos really worth it?
yes yes yes yes yes! Before I got into the business I always used Garnier or V05. Once I started in the salon industry and got introduced to salon quality products I would never go back. Salon products are meant to infuse moisture and help style your hair based on your hair type. Grocery store products are just cheaply made. They include something called a Sulfate. Sulfates strip your hair of everything; build-up, moisture, natural scalp oils that acctually help your hair, and most of all color. If you think about it, if you get your hair done every 4-6 weeks and spend approx $60.00 dollars, your wasting half of that by buying grocery store products beacuse its just stripped the color out. Salon brand shampoos and conditioners, even if its not Color Safe, do not contain Sulfates so even if your not using a color protecting shampoo and conditioner its not stripping it out. They dont add moisture like salon products do. Last month I ran out of shampoo and conditioner(I used Redken) and had to use some of my parents Garnier for a few weeks til I remembered to buy more from my work and my hair was a mess for the entire time I used it. I would never not use salon products, and if you buy then from a salon their only between $10-15.00. Its when you shop at places like Ulta they jack the price up.Are expensive saloon shampoos really worth it?
if you make enough money to not have your wallet notice the difference in spending ten bucks versus three on a bottle of shampoo, then go for it. but otherwise, a brand you can buy at a groccery or a drug store would be perfectly fine. especially if your hair is not extra-long or super diffucult to manage.

if you are having good luck with aussie, stick to it for now.

i use garnier fructis- you could also try pantene if you wanna switch it up.
salon shampoos and conditioners are absolutely worth it! the best would be aveda they have shampoos and conditioners to accommodate with almost every hair challenge if its keeping color from fading getting curly or straight hair dry hair/scalp whatever your hair concern is they got a shampoo and conditioner for it =] and did i mention its all natural and not tested on animals?

What is a good shampoo that isnt expensive and is goof for thick dull dry hair?PLEASE ANSWER!!!!?

OK i got dry dull thick hair, dunno what top use that is under the price of 2-9$,PLEEZ HELP!!!!!What is a good shampoo that isnt expensive and is goof for thick dull dry hair?PLEASE ANSWER!!!!?
matrix is bestWhat is a good shampoo that isnt expensive and is goof for thick dull dry hair?PLEASE ANSWER!!!!?
Paul Mitchell is very good for thick, dull, dry hair. For something cheaper, you could head over to your local drugstore and get Herbal Essences, Dove, etc. If you have some money to splurge, Pureology is extremely good.
i have extremely thick hair, but it has never been dull or dry.. BECAUSE i use hello hydration shampoo from herbal essences. it is in a blue bottle, the shampoo and conditioner adds up to about 6 dollars. it works very well, you can actually feel your hair getting better with each wash.. and it smells fantastic too!
I would recommend Mane %26amp; Tail shampoo and conditioner. Its excellent for thick dry hair. It makes it mangeable, and full of moisture and shine.

    Good Luck
The best thing for you to do is track down a haridresser supply store in your local area. They will be able to assess and assist you with your hair and by purchasing these products you will be doing your hair a favour and wallet too.
i 've got the same problem, well try a dove shampoo or conditioner as it contains least number of chemicals as well as compared to other brands and also been recomended by certain doctors.
one thing to remember when buying shampoos is that when you wash your hair despite thekind you use there will be a thivk residue on your hair ant it is good to switch your types up every week to get rid of that and you shuld notice a diference in the dullness of your hair with just that technique

now as far as kinds go i have thick fine dull curly hair... the best that has worked for me is the suave moisturizing line that is supposed to be like humectress by nexxus and is cheaper than half that of nexxus or paul mitchell and even herbal essence:) another line that i have been likeing recently is the new sunsilk line use a shampoo for shine in that line :) i dont recomend pantene pro- v for hair even tho a shine may appear it is b/c it is applying plastic coating to your hair ( it is one of the chemicals in it ) and can actually damage your hair more.... hot wax also damages hair more than it helps and shouldn't be done esp to thinning hair or super thick b/c the hair's breakage and frizzy qualities...

another good tip is to not completely rinse out all the conditioner you use in your hair... if you dont it conditions deeper and then also protects your hair from uv rays that may dull your hair's color and dry it out :)

and have you tried the f/x brand styling gels and sprays... try the anti frizz serum in that line its 4 $ but worth it :)

hope some of this may help you :)
try tremesse it like 5 buck and works great and smells great !!!! good luck!!!!
    Hi!

I would say within your budget the L'Oreal line is good. A better idea then a shampoo for your hair is a deep conditioning treatment. You can find those for cheap to expensive. There are some quality ones at Walmart even. Deep conditioning will help prolong the life of your hair and make it vibrant therefor you will not need such a heavy moisturizing shampoo.

But like I said, L'Oreal makes a good shampoo/conditioner line. Whatever you chose, try to wash everyother day to let the natural oils penetrate your hair shaft and use a natural boar bristle brush.

    Good luck!!!
The new Herbal Essence Quench It is the best I have dry think VERY curly hair
I have the same problem and they say you should switch shampoo every time you run out. I use herbal essence and V-05 and every now and then I'll throw in some Pantene even though they say Pantene isn't good for your hair. So I just switch between those three. Make sure you use conditioner with every wash.

Are expensive shampoos better than cheap ones?

Can expensive shampoo make hair grow healthy and stronger? Can they help to getrid of oily scalp? Are expensive shampoos better than cheap ones?
Yes they are very different..Try Alterna..Best product in my opinionAre expensive shampoos better than cheap ones?
Nah. I get mine from Penkridge market - a box of six for a quid! Turns my hair green of course but its a bargain!
well depends on your hair ..try pantene..for normal hair
I like using Redken but it's a little expensive so I've found that Dove and Sunsilk work great too and they're cheaper
No, they are all the same...just look at the ingredients in the shampoo. The best shampoo for an oily scalp believe it or not is head and shoulders. It is great for any kind of hair problems. Professional beauticians have to reccomend designer shampoos because they are contracted through the salon that they work in. They will not tell you they are the same if you ask but like I said, look for yourself and ask for some samples of the expensive kind...usually it is just perfumy and smells stronger than cheaper shampoo.
no way there is a lot of tricky companies in this world they pretend that they are the best and they are taking care of consumer satisfy but actully they do not care at all they want money only
No. They all have water as the main ingredient. They all have similar cleaners.
Not neccessarily. However, I suggest you try Dove shampoo because it's probably the softest on hair and actually works for me at least... and whatever you buy, do NOT go for Pantene. That shouldn't even be called shampoo... it's just thick globs of chemicals...
NO NOT REALLY YOUR PRETTY MUCH JUST PAYING FOR THE NAMES ON THOSE EXPENSIVE SHAMPOO BRANDS I GET MY CHEAP SHAMPOOS AND THEY ARE BETTER 4 LESS
i was told by a hair dresser that the shampoo makes almost no difference as long as it cleanses well. it's the conditioner that counts. but not necessarily the expensive ones. pantene is great.

its worth shopping around and changing brands often
No... The best shampoos are the one's they do not advertise that they are PH balanced. Everyone's hair is different and how would they know what PH you need for your hair.
no actually they are all the same you might as well get the cheaper one cause they are all the same
well it depends on what you are trying to moisturize. Arm hair can be one of the most difficult parts of your body to de-oil.

but as_s hair needs the most expensive high quality shampoo you can afford.

But don't go crazy purchasing shampoo because you can go broke, so please hold down a steady job if you take my advise

there have been scientific studies that say NO-in fact they have pointed out a few very expensive ones proven to actually harm your hair. When my hair/scalp was really oily as a teen, I used dish detergent-my hair got clean and stayed healthy. Avoid the temptation to wash your hair too often--that can stimulate the oil glands even more and make your problem worse.
MOP Lemongrass can do a lot for oily hair and scalp.
    NO
the one that are really expensive are not! the ones that are a littl more expensive than the normal brand is usaully better at doing whatever it says. only medicated shapoos work for special condions Scalp itch , oily scalp etc
no not all...i usually switch cuz u dont get all the vitamins from one shampooo...diff. shampoos have dif..vitamins... so i dont think it matters if its expensive or not as long as it helps...i usually buy expensive cuz i got curly hair...so yah..=) matrix
more expensive shampoos use better quality ingredients and a higher concentration of natural herbs and extracts. they are better.
My own experience is that ';NO';, there's not a big difference in regular shampoos and the really expensive ones. I saw a study a couple of weeks ago that said the same thing...sorry, I can't remember what magazine that was in.

The biggest differences are the fragrances and colors....most of the reputable companies put out a product that will work for each condition, so just look at the label for the right type. And, do change brands with each new bottle, so that the particular additives won't build up on your hair....in fact, it wouldn't hurt to keep a couple of different brands to switch up every two or three shampoos.

LOL....There's a lot of differing opinions here, and EVERYBODY has one. That just tells you that the type or cost REALLY doesn't matter.
from personal experiance : Yes, yes,yes %26amp; YES
i've had long hair all my life and raised 4 daughters with long hair. in our experience, shampoo is shampoo. pantene makes your hair feel very silky and soft, but after a while it just feels limp. the key is simply to change shampoos every 2 or 3 months. when you do, whatever shampoo you get will clean away buildup left from whatever your old shampoo was. each one has a little different chemistry, and so cleans some things better than others.

i have heard hairdressers say to avoid balsam and protein shampoos. don't even know if they still make them. and that white rain is the harshest. but, i've used them all and my hair stays quite healthy.

although, i NEVER use a blow dryer. I always air dry. it takes more time, but pays off huge.

and i use conditioner, just on the ends, not my scalp. but, my hair is almost to my waist...

    good luck!

Yes actually. Conditioner is no difft no matter what the price is or anything but shampoos make a difference.
Not always. Just shop around and find what you like best.

Are expensive shampoos and conditioners really better than cheaper ones?

probably not. What you should look out for in a good shampoo or conditioner is one that doesn't contain Propylene or Ethylene Glycol because they can be extremely harmful if used regularly.

There are lots of cheap, nice scented, organic shampoos or conditioners- they are the ones you want to get.Are expensive shampoos and conditioners really better than cheaper ones?

Yes, shampoos like suave are not conditioning shampoos, and can sometimes dry your hair out. Now you dont have to go as exspensive as Biolage, but maybe try Pantene or Infusium 23, they are not exspensive at all, and are very good for your hair!
I love Ganier Fructis products- I've tried Suave to save some money at times, but can't wait till the bottle is used up to buy my regular stuff!

Is Nizoral shampoo good to get rid of dandruff? And how do I keep dandruff away.Nizoral is expensive?

Head and Shoulders is inexpensive and works fine. Here is some other info on dandruff.

Dandruff is the result of a disturbance in the body's metabolic process. Your scalp, like the rest of your skin, is constantly renewing and shedding itself. Old cells die out and give way to new ones. And when the natural balance in the metabolic process is upset, the new cells form faster than the old cells can be shed off. These then accumulate on the scalp in the form of flakes. The metabolic process can be disturbed by

    . Drugs

    . The onset of puberty

    . Emotional stress and strain

. Sudden changes in the climate or your diet.

. It is also believed that dandruff is caused by a fungal infection of the scalp.

Infrequent shampooing of hair, inadequate rinsing and excessive use of a hot hair dryer (which also causes contact dermatitis), aggravates dandruff. You could prevent dandruff by shampooing regularly with a mild shampoo. Massage your scalp gently to loosen flakes and rinse the hair and scalp thoroughly.

Excessive use of hairsprays and gels and improper use of hair coloring products can cause dandruff. Tight fitting hats and scarves should be avoided.

A combination of cold weather, low humidity and dry indoor heat could explain persistent dandruff.

Poor diet, food allergies, hormonal imbalances, and infections can all lead to dandruffIs Nizoral shampoo good to get rid of dandruff? And how do I keep dandruff away.Nizoral is expensive?
yes it is good for dandruff, my mom uses it and she had dandruff bad, and since she used it she don't.

Is it true that expensive salon shampoo is better for your hair than stuff you buy at drug stores/supermarket?

yes it does make a difference the shampoos that you get from the grocery contain alot of alcohol and wax like pantene why your hair feels so soft is that it is wax covering the lil divits in your hair not actually fixing anything just covering it up....while salon shampoo actually fixes your problem using high end ingredientsIs it true that expensive salon shampoo is better for your hair than stuff you buy at drug stores/supermarket?
Some salon shampoos arent all that expensive you can get two for one deals sometimes. you can also get salon shampoo from Sally Supply Company. com cheaper also www. Ives Rocher.com they have very good all natural shampoo and its always 2 for one price sometimes buy one get one free. Also yes salon shampoo is betterIs it true that expensive salon shampoo is better for your hair than stuff you buy at drug stores/supermarket?
I always bought the best until about 6 months ago I was on a trip with nothing but $1.99 Suave....I'm still using it! It has been great for my hair. I've saved myself lots of money and got great looking hair out of it as well.
The Suave Professionals line is awesome. They have their version of Biolage which to me is much better than the salon brands. As somebody else said in their answer, Pantene and the like aren't PH Balanced therefore they are much more harsh on your hair.
yes because the salon (professional) products are pH balanced for your hair and the supmarket stuff leaves a wax residue on your hair and they are not pH balanced
In terms of looks, yes. But your hair will be just as healthy with inexpensive shampoo.
I'm not sure but I do know that the cheap stuff is more watered down so you have to use more of it than the expensive stuff. As far as conditioners go, I definitly believe that the more expensive one's are better, just not sure about shampoo.
No its the ingredients in the shampoo that make the difference.
it depends on what brand you buy. some of the expensive shampoos made my hair feel the same way the cheap stuff did. pantene is good and they have a couple of new lines of hair products now. their leave-in conditioner spray is good too for the extra softness.
no it's so not true. you can always count on pantene pro v or herbal essences for silky shiny hair. But i gotta point out one thing though, the hair salons do have better styling products than anything you can get from the drug stores :]

What is the best shampoo and conditioner you can buy? cheap and expensive?

It depends: for cheap: i would say Head And Shoulders for Dandruff

For just good quality i would say Dove (and cheap)What is the best shampoo and conditioner you can buy? cheap and expensive?
Head and Shoulders has a dandruff shampoo/conditioner that comes in a ton of different scents, and isn't just for dandruff anymore. Just general hair washing. That's the cheap one. (: You can buy it at drug stores for about $3 a bottle.

Biolage shampoos and conditioners are the best you can buy. They're $20 a bottle, but work amazingly. You can buy them at salons. Trust me, Biolage makes your hair so silky smooth! What is the best shampoo and conditioner you can buy? cheap and expensive?
I can honestly give you the truth and say Pantene Pro-v i mean this is coming from a girl with unbelievably thick curly and frizzy hair and it at least keeps it manageable and very soft plus i hear the shampoo and conditioner carry vitamins to keep the hair strong and healthy.... but with all honesty i love it!! (:

    Btw its cheap two!!

  • Is there a difference between Suave and more expensive shampoos like Biolage?

For example, between Biolage and Suave BiobasicsIs there a difference between Suave and more expensive shampoos like Biolage?
Yes there is a difference. Best way I can explain it is you get what you pay for.Is there a difference between Suave and more expensive shampoos like Biolage?
Thanks for the extra points!!!! Report Abuse
