Is expensive shampoo really better or is it psychological?

I'm too tight to pay top whack prices for shampoo. Do you think it's worth it?Is expensive shampoo really better or is it psychological?
I'm a hairdresser, and i'll tell you, it doesnt really matter. Anything is fine, as long as its not overly abrasive and you don't over-cleanse and strip your hair of natural oils. Tresseme gets my thumbs up.

As long as you don't use Pantene. People think its soo great, but its loaded with silicone and other cheap nasties. It coats your hair so you think its nice and shiny - it appears stronger. But the minute you try use something else, you'll see what the silicon deposits have really done to it's conditon. Totally eaten away at the hair structure and left it brittle and prone to breakage. Think of it as glue bonding to your hair shaft, then using a glue remover and big chunks of your hair coming with it. Thats whats happening on a microscopic level. Its rubbish! Any hairdresser will tell you the same thing. Is expensive shampoo really better or is it psychological?
hi i used to buy donna karen shampoo and conditioner which were 拢15 each they were great, but since i had a baby i can afford to buy it 3 times a month anymore now i dove or sunsilk and they work just as good and for a fraction of the price so cheap shampoo is just as good as the expensive stuff.
The sale of almost all consumer goods is under pined by psychology these days. Most people are fooled by the hidden persuasion tactics, they don麓t necessary buy articles on the basis of quality, but on designer labels. Many of these designer labelled goods are made in the far east by sweated labour, they have very bad working condition and very poor pay when compare to western economies. The workers in the western world and their government would not condone such conditions in their own country, but are happy to see others exploited. Many of the jobs they do were once done in the west. Wake up you are being ripped off.
Its Good For The Hair To Change Brand Of Shampoo Each Time You Need To Buy A New One...

Because Your Washing Your Hair In The Same Chemicals After A While %26amp; The Hair Gets So Used To Them That They Don't Do Anything Special To The Hair After A While...

But The Expensive Ones Do Nothing Different So Save Your Money...

Revamp Your Hair Once In A While By Heating A Few Tablespoons Of Cooking Oil In The Microwave..

Then Rub It Into Your Scalp %26amp; Wrap A Towel Round..

Leave For Half An Hour..

When Times Up Rinse Throughly Then Wash Hair In Shampoo %26amp; Dry Naturally..

Hair Feels Silkier %26amp; Smoother After That Treatment...
Regular shamposs such as citre shine, suave, tres emme, all work. There really isn't a need to go out and buy 20 shampoos. There are some like sunsilk that don't work though. I think shampoos are okay to buy cheap... but it's a different story with conditioners.
i think its not all that they make it to be. the best is to use just simple shampoo because it has less chemicals and extra stuff mixd into it. that makes it better for your hair. good luck
I think they all work the same but if you need a specific shampoo (e.g. for dry hair, greasy hair, etc.) the its probs best to get a more expensive shampoo because the normal shampoo's are usually quite bland.
I think it is mainly psychological. If someone pays a fortune for shampoo they want to think they haven't wasted their money. However, there are some specialist shampoos that target certain conditions....dandruff, grease, sun damage. These can sometimes be worth buying. You have to know your own hair very well though to be able to chose. If your hair is basically in good condition, I think you can get away with cheaper shampoos. Even so, I would recommend changing shampoos regularly to prevent build up of certain chemicals. Have you seen the HairBoutique website at http://www.hairboutique.com/ The forums are full of experts who know a lot about hair and hair products.

I watched a program once where they compared expensive brands to low cost ones, very few of the more expensive shampoos did any better.
