Are expensive shampoos better than cheap ones?

Can expensive shampoo make hair grow healthy and stronger? Can they help to getrid of oily scalp? Are expensive shampoos better than cheap ones?
Yes they are very different..Try Alterna..Best product in my opinionAre expensive shampoos better than cheap ones?
Nah. I get mine from Penkridge market - a box of six for a quid! Turns my hair green of course but its a bargain!
well depends on your hair ..try pantene..for normal hair
I like using Redken but it's a little expensive so I've found that Dove and Sunsilk work great too and they're cheaper
No, they are all the same...just look at the ingredients in the shampoo. The best shampoo for an oily scalp believe it or not is head and shoulders. It is great for any kind of hair problems. Professional beauticians have to reccomend designer shampoos because they are contracted through the salon that they work in. They will not tell you they are the same if you ask but like I said, look for yourself and ask for some samples of the expensive kind...usually it is just perfumy and smells stronger than cheaper shampoo.
no way there is a lot of tricky companies in this world they pretend that they are the best and they are taking care of consumer satisfy but actully they do not care at all they want money only
No. They all have water as the main ingredient. They all have similar cleaners.
Not neccessarily. However, I suggest you try Dove shampoo because it's probably the softest on hair and actually works for me at least... and whatever you buy, do NOT go for Pantene. That shouldn't even be called shampoo... it's just thick globs of chemicals...
NO NOT REALLY YOUR PRETTY MUCH JUST PAYING FOR THE NAMES ON THOSE EXPENSIVE SHAMPOO BRANDS I GET MY CHEAP SHAMPOOS AND THEY ARE BETTER 4 LESS
i was told by a hair dresser that the shampoo makes almost no difference as long as it cleanses well. it's the conditioner that counts. but not necessarily the expensive ones. pantene is great.
some can

its worth shopping around and changing brands often
No... The best shampoos are the one's they do not advertise that they are PH balanced. Everyone's hair is different and how would they know what PH you need for your hair.
no actually they are all the same you might as well get the cheaper one cause they are all the same
well it depends on what you are trying to moisturize. Arm hair can be one of the most difficult parts of your body to de-oil.

but as_s hair needs the most expensive high quality shampoo you can afford.

But don't go crazy purchasing shampoo because you can go broke, so please hold down a steady job if you take my advise

i love u
there have been scientific studies that say NO-in fact they have pointed out a few very expensive ones proven to actually harm your hair. When my hair/scalp was really oily as a teen, I used dish detergent-my hair got clean and stayed healthy. Avoid the temptation to wash your hair too often--that can stimulate the oil glands even more and make your problem worse.
MOP Lemongrass can do a lot for oily hair and scalp.
NO
the one that are really expensive are not! the ones that are a littl more expensive than the normal brand is usaully better at doing whatever it says. only medicated shapoos work for special condions Scalp itch , oily scalp etc
no not all...i usually switch cuz u dont get all the vitamins from one shampooo...diff. shampoos have dif..vitamins... so i dont think it matters if its expensive or not as long as it helps...i usually buy expensive cuz i got curly hair...so yah..=) matrix
more expensive shampoos use better quality ingredients and a higher concentration of natural herbs and extracts. they are better.
My own experience is that ';NO';, there's not a big difference in regular shampoos and the really expensive ones. I saw a study a couple of weeks ago that said the same thing...sorry, I can't remember what magazine that was in.

The biggest differences are the fragrances and colors....most of the reputable companies put out a product that will work for each condition, so just look at the label for the right type. And, do change brands with each new bottle, so that the particular additives won't build up on your hair....in fact, it wouldn't hurt to keep a couple of different brands to switch up every two or three shampoos.

LOL....There's a lot of differing opinions here, and EVERYBODY has one. That just tells you that the type or cost REALLY doesn't matter.
from personal experiance : Yes, yes,yes %26amp; YES
i've had long hair all my life and raised 4 daughters with long hair. in our experience, shampoo is shampoo. pantene makes your hair feel very silky and soft, but after a while it just feels limp. the key is simply to change shampoos every 2 or 3 months. when you do, whatever shampoo you get will clean away buildup left from whatever your old shampoo was. each one has a little different chemistry, and so cleans some things better than others.

i have heard hairdressers say to avoid balsam and protein shampoos. don't even know if they still make them. and that white rain is the harshest. but, i've used them all and my hair stays quite healthy.

although, i NEVER use a blow dryer. I always air dry. it takes more time, but pays off huge.

and i use conditioner, just on the ends, not my scalp. but, my hair is almost to my waist...

good luck!
When it comes to hair products, you get what you pay for.
Yes actually. Conditioner is no difft no matter what the price is or anything but shampoos make a difference.
Not always. Just shop around and find what you like best.
