Is it possible for a hairdresser to see/notice if you use a cheap or an expensive (quality) shampoo?

Yes. Cheap shampoos leave a waxy layer on your hair that makes it more difficult to style. A well-trained hair stylist can pick up on this.

I used a cheap shampoo/conditioner brand I got at Target because I ran out of my Redken and she could tell immediately. Is it possible for a hairdresser to see/notice if you use a cheap or an expensive (quality) shampoo?
probably not.

just cause it is cheap, doesn't mean it works badly and vice verse.

but if the shampoo is cheaply made, and your hair is damaged, they may suspect you are not using the best products. Is it possible for a hairdresser to see/notice if you use a cheap or an expensive (quality) shampoo?
old stylist secret... yes we can..

and to the poster who thinks we use cheap commercial product...we never have and never will.
yes because your hair can be dry if your not using the right shampoo. It doesn't have to be from the salon but is has to be some what good shampoo.
Probably not. Most likely they are using the same shampoo and charging you ten times what it is worth.
